How to Use Antara Kita

Bodies and desire are unique. Learn how to make Antara Kita work for you.

Three simple steps

01

Start outside

Dispense 2–3 pumps onto your fingertips. Begin on the external anatomy (vulva, glans penis and/or introitus) to help the body relax.

02

Spread generously

Apply wherever feels good, and take your time. Your body needs time to respond and warm up to touch.

03

Refresh as you go

If it starts to feel less slippery, add a few drops of water to bring it back. Reapply whenever you like.

Why we start on the outside

The vaginal lining is a delicate mucosal tissue, and it isn’t “ready” from the first touch. With arousal, blood flow increases, and the tissue warms, relaxes and begins to make its own moisture. That takes time, often more than most of us were ever told.

Touching the external anatomy first (the vulva, the clitoris, the opening) gives the body that time. Antara Kita is made to work with that process, not to rush past it.

Good to know

  • A little goes a long way.
  • Water-based, so it washes off with water and won’t stain sheets.
  • Safe with condoms and intimate items.
  • Sachets are for single use. Open one, use it, discard it.

What’s in it, explained

Tap a term to see what it means.

Water-based

Light and easy to wash away with water. Safe with condoms and intimate products, and won’t stain your sheets.

Hyaluronic hydration

Sodium hyaluronate holds onto moisture, helping keep tissue comfortable well after the moment has passed.

Balanced osmolality

How concentrated a lubricant is compared with your body’s own fluids. Highly concentrated lubricants can draw water out of delicate tissue and leave you drier than before. Antara Kita is formulated within World Health Organization guidance.

Gentle pH

pH measures how acidic something is. Intimate skin is delicate, so Antara Kita is gently formulated to be mild and comfortable.

No glycerin

Glycerin has been associated with yeast overgrowth, which can leave some women with uncomfortable itching. We left it out.

Fragrance free

Fragrance is one of the most common causes of irritation on sensitive skin. Your body doesn’t need it.

Paraben free

Formulated without parabens, so there is nothing in it that isn’t needed.

Condom compatible

Safe with latex and other condoms and with intimate novelty items. Oil-based lubricants can weaken latex; ours is water-based.

Halal-certified

Our formula and its manufacturing are certified halal by HCS, a body recognised by MUIS in Singapore and JAKIM in Malaysia. Caring for your intimate life shouldn’t mean compromising your faith.

Myths and facts

Myth

“Needing lubricant means something is wrong with me.”

Fact

Natural lubrication changes with arousal, hormones, stress, sleep and age. Reaching for lubricant is about comfort, not a sign that anything is wrong.

Myth

“If I need it, I’m not aroused enough.”

Fact

Desire and the body don’t always move at the same pace. The mind can be ready before the body is, and that’s normal.

Myth

“Lubricant is only for older women.”

Fact

Women use it at every stage of life. Comfort matters at twenty-five as much as at fifty-five.

Myth

“Any oil or lotion will do.”

Fact

Oils can weaken latex condoms, and fragranced lotions can irritate delicate skin. A water-based lubricant is made for the job.

Your questions

Using it

How do I use it?

Dispense 2–3 pumps onto your fingertips and spread generously on the areas you’d like. For best results, begin on the external sexual anatomy (vulva, glans penis and/or introitus) to encourage the body to relax for lasting enjoyment. The body needs time to warm up and to respond to touch and to aids like lubricant, so use it at the beginning of your physical engagement.

Can I use it every day, or when I am not having sex?

Yes. It is designed for everyday comfort and can be used as often as you like, whether or not you are being intimate.

Is it suitable at every stage of life?

Yes. It is made for everyday comfort at every stage of life.

Does it stain, or feel sticky?

It is clear, unscented and washes off with water and does not stain.

It is made to glide, which means more comfort can be felt as friction reduces. Our bodies are different: for some, the lubricant is absorbed more quickly into the body (leaving you feeling like it gets too dry too quickly), and for others, the lubricant might feel too much. Take time to understand how the lubricant works with your body, and adjust the quantity applied to match your needs.

What is in it?

Purified water, hydroxyethyl cellulose (gives it body), sodium hyaluronate (holds moisture), sodium polyacrylate (smoothness), citric acid (sets the pH), 1,2-propanediol (keeps it from drying out), potassium sorbate and EDTA-2Na (keep it fresh).

What is NOT in it?

No glycerin, no parabens, no fragrance, no colour, no hormones, no warming or tingling agents.

  • Glycerin is a sugar alcohol that raises a lubricant’s osmolality, drawing water out of the very tissue it is meant to moisten.

  • Parabens are preservatives that delicate mucosal tissue can react to, and there are gentler ways to keep a gel fresh.

  • Fragrance is among the most frequent causes of contact irritation in personal-care products, and it has nothing to offer tissue that was never meant to be perfumed.

What does “pH-balanced” mean, and why does it matter?

pH measures how acidic or alkaline something is. Antara Kita is adjusted with citric acid to a mild pH of 5.5–6.5, close to the natural pH of skin, so it is gentle on the delicate skin of the vulva and penis.

What does “osmolality-balanced” mean, and why does it matter?

Osmolality is the measure that matters most, and the one almost never printed on a bottle. It describes how concentrated a fluid is in dissolved particles, and water always moves from the less concentrated side to the more concentrated one. Apply a fluid far more concentrated than the tissue and the gradient runs the wrong way: water is drawn out of the surface cells and into the gel, the cells lose volume, and the tissue surrenders the very moisture it was meant to keep. This is the paradox many women know without having a name for it: something that feels fine at first and leaves them drier afterwards. A low-osmolality formulation reverses the direction of that exchange. Water stays where it belongs, and the sodium hyaluronate in Antara Kita has something to hold. It is why the World Health Organization advises that lubricants be formulated as close to the body’s own osmolality as possible, and why osmolality, more than any single ingredient, decides whether a lubricant retains moisture or quietly removes it.

About Antara Kita

What is Antara Kita?

A premium water-based personal lubricant for everyday intimate comfort, created by a former Chief Radiation Therapist. It is a registered medical device in Singapore and the first halal-certified personal lubricant in Asia.

Why do we need lubricant at all?

Because the body’s own lubrication is not a constant. It is a response, and like every response it varies: with arousal, with the hour of the day and the stage of the month, with sleep, with stress, and with the changes that come with age and the seasons of a woman’s life. None of this is failure; it is physiology. What a lubricant does is remove the variable. It lets comfort be decided on rather than hoped for, so that closeness is not rationed by whether the body happened to cooperate that evening. Used well, it is less an intervention than a courtesy, to oneself and to the other person.

Why isn’t lubricant part of the conversation?

Sid learned this first in oncology, when she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. Patients whose treatment had affected their bodies would tell her about the fatigue, the appetite, the skin, everything except what had happened to their sex lives, and she could see the question sitting unasked at the end of every consultation. Doctors were not asking about their sexual wellness, and in the face of a cancer diagnosis, patients dealt with that challenge in secret. Years later, behind the counter of her own shop – Please – An Educational Pleasure Shop, in Brooklyn, New York, she watched the same silence in people who were perfectly well: nobody asks about lubricant until they think something is wrong, and even then they rarely ask. That is not an accident. For decades it was sold as a fix, a small tube for a private failure, tucked behind the condoms and labelled in language that was either medical or mildly embarrassing.

Across cultures, intimacy is kept private, the things that serve it go unmentioned, and what goes unmentioned starts to feel like something to be ashamed of. Antara Kita is Sid’s way of bringing the conversation about sexual wellness and sexual comfort to the surface – because something this basic belongs in everyday life.

Who made this, and why?

Sid Azmi, a Malay Singapore-born former Chief Radiation Therapist and sex educator in New York, who spent years listening to women who had questions they never felt comfortable asking. Read her story on our About page.

Where is it made?

It is manufactured for us by an ISO 13485-certified medical facility and imported and distributed by Antara Kita in Singapore and Malaysia under our own medical-device licences.

Is it halal?

Yes. Antara Kita Premium Water Based Lubricant is named on a halal certificate issued by HCS, a certification body recognised by MUIS in Singapore and JAKIM in Malaysia.

Why it matters is broader than it first appears. Halal certification is, in practice, an audit of provenance. Every ingredient is traced to its origin, every step of manufacture is documented, and the whole is reviewed by an independent body against a published standard, so a certified product carries a degree of scrutiny over what goes into it, and how. For some, that is a matter of conscience. For everyone, it is an assurance of transparency: a formulation in which nothing has been left unexamined and nothing needs to be taken on trust.

Safety and compatibility

Can I use it with condoms?

Yes. It is water-based and compatible with condoms and with silicone or other intimate products.

Is it a contraceptive? Does it protect against infections?

No. Antara Kita is a lubricant only. It does not prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections.

What if I have a reaction?

Stop using it and wash with water. Like any product, it may not suit everyone. If the reaction persists, contact your healthcare provider. Let us know through the product reporting form on our Contact page — every report is reviewed and you will receive a reference number.

How long does it keep?

Unopened, it keeps for 3 years; check the expiry date on your pack. Once opened, use it within 3 months (the open-jar symbol marked 3M), because air and humidity can affect the gel after opening.

Ordering

Why can’t I buy it online?

Because we believe intimate care begins with an educated conversation, and we would rather you had it with a pharmacist you can see than a checkout page. We sell only through physical pharmacies, clinics and independent shops. We firmly believe in supporting small businesses that contribute to local commerce and keeping neighbourhoods lively.

Where can I buy it?

Antara Kita arrives in pharmacies and clinics in Singapore and Malaysia from December 2026. We will list every stockist on our Where to Buy page as soon as they are confirmed.

What sizes does it come in?

60 ml bottle, 125 ml bottle, and a box of five 5 ml sachets for travel or a first try.
